Dear Brother Knights,

The time has come for us to meet, and finally we were able to schedule the meeting of Regional, Area and Chapter leaders on the 13th and 14th of December2008

in

Dormotel Regina, Markt 81, D-53757 Sankt Augustin

The meeting will start at 11:00 on Saturday (13th) until late afternoon or early evening and continue next morning at 9:30 until about 14:00

This will allow everybody a comfortable travel time arrangement and hopefully will not be stressful.

This first meeting is of high importance and should get the highest priority on your schedule. It is a first step to have a coordination and cooperation in our Region.
As we have already mentioned in our introduction and the covering letter, we need your cooperation and your dedication to our order to achieve our common goals.

If you cannot attend this important meeting, please appoint another member of your chapter to act and vote on your behalf. We will appreciate your early response.

Saturday December 13th, 2008 Day 1

11:00 to 12:00 Plenary session: Words of welcome

  • Appointment of Secretary to take the minutes of the meeting,
  • Introduction of participants,
  • Setting up rules of the Meeting
  • Approval of agenda, additions and priority

13:00 - 15:00 Plenary session:
Regional issues, information by Regional Commander
Regional agenda for 2008-to 2010, Priorities
15:00 - 15:20 Coffee break
15:20 - 16:20 Area meetings Belgium, France, Germany, UK and Ireland

  • The others will already discuss current questions:
  • e.g.: Amendment of the laws and by-laws
  • Discussion on Rizalism
  • Committee on ethics, proposal of committee members.

16:20 - 16:30 Coffee break
16:30 - (17:30) Plenary session:
The Area Commanders will present results of the Area meetings

Sunday December 14th , 2008, Day 2

9:30 Start

Sir Tony and Sir Peter will introduce the following agenda (after the approval of the Assembly, to set priorities)

  • Approach to a common understanding and agreement on Rizalism as base for our Order.
  • Committee on Ethics, rules, authority, nomination and binding force of decisions
  • Individual responsibilities for certain tasks;Shared responsibilities:
  • Electing members regardless of their Rank for general and special tasks:
  • Web site directory, calendars, membership training, candidates training etc.:


Membership questions, European directory, Seminars for candidates

  • Committee on promotions and awards
  • Communication, (Newsletter, Website etc.)
  • Archivist for Regional and area files
  • Treasurer
  • Flagship Project
  • Committee on promotions and awards
  • Ethics commission
  • Coordinator for all activities on Regional and Area Level
  • Commission on Rizalism

Proposal for the amendment of laws and by-laws.

  • Structures of election procedures.
  • Structures and definitions for assemblies, councils etc. on regional and area level.
  • Binding force of decisions of assemblies for all Officers either appointed or elected.
  • Nomination procedures and binding force of the nominations for the Proposal to the IHQ.
  • Transparency and communication on all levels and between all levels.
  • Regular reports.
  • Calendar of Chapter and area activities
  • Documentation of Chapter, Area and Regional activities of the past, the presence and the plans for the future.
  • Directory of members, Chapters and Officers.
  • We need to initiate a discussion about the commitment and motivation of members and officers.
  • Approach to a common understanding and agreeing on Rizalism as base for our Order.
  • Corporate Identity of the Knights of Rizal or do the KOR in Europe have a profile?


Do we have a common identity? Do we need a common identity?
How do we distinguish ourselves from other Filipino Organisation?
European Flagship Project?

  • What can our members or candidates for membership expect from the Order?
  • What can the Order expect from its members or candidates?
  • What are the advantages/disadvantages of being a member of the KOR?
  • How do we find and how do we recruit qualified members?


General issues

  • Situation of the IHQ
  • Financial status IHQ
  • Financial status Structure Region Areas and Chapters
  • General Assembly Manila February 2009
  • Internet presentation, Communication with members.

Anmerkung:
Das Treffen in Köln wird von unserem Nachbar-Chapter ausgerichtet. Der Ort steht noch nicht fest, wird aber frühzeitig durch uns bekannt gegeben.
Das Treffen in Wilhelmsfeld findet in Schriesheim (gleicher Ort wie das Damalige im Februar 2008) Haus Scheid, Talstr. statt, mit Kranzniederlegung an der Statue unseres Helden, auch hier wird Näheres noch rechtzeitig auf unserer HP erscheinen.
